Introducing the New Nurse Manager for School Nursing Programs at OSDE

This year the Oklahoma State Department of Education added a new position for The Manager of School Nursing Programs. Kellie Carter BSN, RN started in this new role three weeks ago. This position was added to help with Project 724 and to facilitate the health education mandates for schools in Oklahoma. Kellie and Gayle Black from the OSDH are collaborating to make sure all of the districts are receiving up to date training for Diabetes, Vision Screening, and Seizures.
Kellie Carter lives in Mustang, OK with her husband and 6 kids. Prior to this position, she was the District Resource Nurse at Mustang Public Schools. She has experience in L&D, pediatrics, home health, surgery, and clinical nursing. She is looking forward to collaborating with RNs, LPNs, and health aides across the state.
