Health Educators Pilot Program

The Oklahoma State Department of Education is seeking 25 PK-12 educators to pilot a set of virtual professional learning modules for health education. The purpose of these modules is to provide educators with foundational knowledge in health education and best practices for instruction aligned to the Oklahoma Academic Standards.  

The virtual professional learning modules are designed to support districts with the implementation of the Health Education Act( 70 O.S. § 11-103.13) and prepare teachers to providing quality health education to PK-12 students by the 2034-24 school year. Those completing the modules will also have an opportunity to earn a micro-credential for health education. 

Those selected to complete and review the modules will be asked to do so from January-April 2023 and receive a stipend for up to one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) for work outside of school contracted hours. In order to receive compensation, the participant must have a current teacher certification number.

The feedback from the pilot will be utilized to improve the modules and make them ready for use statewide in the Summer of 2023.
